Honey Garlic Salmon
One of my all time favorite dinners is this honey garlic salmon recipe. Normally, a good piece of salmon doesn’t need much aside from a couple of spices and a good quality cooking oil. But, if you’re looking to change up the flavor game, this honey garlic salmon sauce is definitely a must try.
This recipe is great for nights where you want a quick, 30-minute dinner on the table. I love to serve it over rice with stir-fried veggies, or a sesame cucumber salad.

This sauce is so easy to throw together and is made with just a few simple pantry ingredients. It’s easily modifiable and has less sugar than store bought sauces.

What you’ll need to make honey garlic salmon:
- 3-4 salmon fillets, about 4-6 oz each. I love thicker cuts of salmon that stay flakey and tender when cooked
- Coconut aminos is one of my go-to condiments in place of soy sauce. It’s made of coconut sap and sea salt, and can be used as a naturally gluten-free soy sauce alternative, with way less sodium and a natural sweetness. I love it for this recipe because it requires less added sugar from the honey.
- Tapioca flour- extracted from the roots of the cassava plant, I use this as a thickener for the sauce. You’ll see me use it a lot in my recipes, but it’s easily replaceable with arrowroot flour, rice flour or regular flour!
- Honey
- Garlic & ginger
- Sesame seeds
- Scallions
- Red chili flakes- this ones optional, but I love to add some heat to my meals

- Start by seasoning the salmon lightly with salt, pepper and smoked paprika. Sear both sides of the salmon in oil for 2-3 minutes per side
- Once the salmon is browned, drain any excess oil from the pan using a paper towel.
- Pour the sauce ingredients into the pan and let the sauce cook on a low flame until it thickens.
- Add a few thinly sliced lemon slices into the sauce and place the salmon back into the pan. Finish cooking the fish for another 5-6 minutes on a low flame.
- Garnish with extra scallions and sesame seeds

The sauce is so delicious, it can even be used as a marinade for tofu, chicken or your favorite protein. Serve the salmon over rice with your favorite veggies for a hearty weeknight dinner.

This honey garlic salmon has truly become one of our weeknight staples. You guys are going to love it!
